A premium salon and spa group operating 40 locations across the UK and Germany wanted to retire a stiff, one-size polyester apron that stylists disliked. The brief centered on comfort and movement: a lightweight apron that flexed with the wearer through a full shift and shrugged off the bleach and color products that destroy ordinary fabrics.

We specified a 200 GSM 94/6 cotton-spandex with a stain-release finish, cut in two silhouettes — a shorter stylist apron and a longer colorist apron with a deeper, sealed front pocket. Each carried a tonal embroidered wordmark plus the location's two-letter initials so aprons stayed with their salon through the group's shared laundry.

The stretch fabric required a careful color approval — the group's black had to stay true after repeated exposure to peroxide and color developer. We ran two lab-dip rounds and a 30-cycle chemical-contact test before sign-off. The neck buckle was an adjustable antique-nickel slider so any stylist could fit the apron in seconds.

All 40 locations were outfitted in a single coordinated rollout shipped DDP to the group's central UK hub. After the first year the group reported zero color-bleed claims despite daily chemical exposure and a 22% lift in stylist fit-satisfaction scores in their internal staff survey. The aprons are now standard issue for new-location openings.
